Coloring with White Gel Pens

I LOVE this card! I actually copied it (CASEd) it from Becky Ohlers whose card is fabulous! If you want to see her card, you can see it here.

I used one of my favorite older stamp sets, "Petal Pack" and stamped it with Noir Palette in the corners of the cardstock. I colored it in with my white Xtreme Gel Pen (page 118 in the Catalogue). Then, I stamped the sentiment from "Oh How" on the side. It may be hard to see, but I then took my scor-pal and scored a line around each side of the blue cardstock. I used "Running Stitches" to make the lines on the white cardstock using post it notes to mask off where I didn't want to stamp.

I added ribbon around the blue piece and popped it up on pop dots and adhered.

I love the result!

Spring Anyone?

It feels like Spring outside but the trees are still bare and it's only February! But, we can still dream of Spring right?

Here's two cards to get you in the mood! The first is from a set that is perfect for Spring and just a lot of fun to work with. It's appropriately named "Spring Time". The sentiment is from "Little Things".

I used a circle punch to cut the little notch out of the end of my sentiment strip and then put the button with scrapper's floss tied through the holes in the negative space.

This little chickie card is tiny. I can't find it at the moment, but I guess that it's probably about 3x3ish. The little chick and sentiment is from the new set called "Hoppity Skippity" in the new Serendipity magalogue. I used yellow fun flock on the chick for a fun little touchy feely effect. So fun!

Friendship Angel Art Challenge

Did you know that February is National Friendship month? I participated in a TAC Angel Art Challenge for the month of February with a frienship theme. Our challenge was to create something using a "friendship" sentiment.

I decided to do something a little bit different. Over a year ago I bought the ugliest wall hook hanging from Hobby Lobby. It was on clearance for $1.40 and had a picture of an out-of-focus $10 bill on it. What would you do with something like that? Anyway, when I saw it, I thought it would be fun to alter and I FINALLY pulled it out of the cabinet to do something with. It already had a black "frame" so I just covered up the ugly part! Here's what the final product looks like:

The stamp sets that I used for the flower images were TAC's "Blooming Builders" and "Petal Pack". The sentiment came from the "Seeds of Blessing" set. The ink colors are all VersaMagic inks that are in the TAC catalogue. The button is from the new Lemonade Buttons & Blossoms embellishment cubes from Serendipity. I tied some blue scrapper's floss through the holes, tied it and then curled it. The ribbons are also from TAC's ribbon line. The green paper is from TAC's Angelee paper pack.

Card & Scrapbook Page

I have been on a "Floral Dingbats" kick lately. I just had to do another one! This started out as just the card. Then, as I was talking to Laurie, we decided to each do a card and then make the same layout into a scrapbook page. It is so easy to use your stamps to embellish your scrapbook pages and it saves you money since you can use the same stamps in different ways and colors and it will look different each time!

I used the same basic layout for both the scrapbook page and card. The scrapbook page is 8x8. The brown paper that is scallop is from one of my favorite TAC paper collections "Catelynne". I used my cloud scissors to make the scalloped edge.

The buttons, felt flowers & mulberry paper flowers are from one of the new items offered in the new Serendipity Magalogue called Elizabeth Buttons & Blossoms. Oh my goodness!! I LOVE these!!! They are so fun and add just the right touch to both cards and scrapbook pages! They are only $9.95 and each container has 160 pieces!! How cool is that??

The "Floral Dingbats" stamp is stamped with Palette Chartreuse ink on TAC's wonderful Kraft paper. To adhere the flowers I used glue on the felt flowers and glue dots on the paper flowers. The button is also adhered with glue dots.

The adhesive that I used for my scrapbook layout is awesome! I have looked and looked for adhesive that I love using on my scrapbooks--you know, one that holds well and actually sticks! Well, I am happy to say that I love the Kokuyo Dot'n'Roller adhesive that TAC has started carrying! It's wonderful!

Happy Birthday

I have been seeing images all over the place lately that are similar to the TAC "Floral Dingbats" set and the new Serendipity stamp set "Victorian Elements" and others that you will find in the TAC catalogue. I needed a birthday card today and was inspired by a card I saw here.

The stamp sets I used were TAC's "Floral Dingbats" and "Linear Sentiments" and the sentiment is from the Hostess Level A set called "Laughter". I added stickles on the tips of the "flowers" on the purple focal point.

I stamped the floral dingbats on bright white TAC Ultrasmooth cardstock but it looks kind of ivory in the picture. I couldn't get a really nice picture that showed the true white of the cardstock, but hopefully, you'll still get the idea!

Floral Dingbat Valentine

I saw a card today on a blog that I just absolutely loved and I decided to recreate it TAC style. You can see the card that inspired me here. I am thrilled with how my version turned out!

First, I ordered TAC's brown cardstock recently and let me tell you, I love that stuff! It is a great color and a nice quality cardstock. That is the brown cardstock that I used on this card. I also used Kraft cardstock which is the same quality as the brown. The pink is Bazzill.

To recreate the patterned paper I took my pink Bazzill paper and stamped the "Floral Dingbats" stamp in Moulin Rouge Palette ink to create a pattern. I then attached it to the brown cardstock after inking the edges in Burnt Umber Palette ink. I used a Martha Sterwart punch to create the white scalloped border (I couldn't resist it when I saw the scallops).

I don't know how well you can see the dimention on the card but the brown label die cut is on pop dots and then the pink die cut is on pop dots on top of that. It gives quite a nice bit of dimension to the card. Here's another view that might help you see that better.

The ribbon is from TAC's Juliette Ribbon pack. Isn't it gorgeous? Who would have thought that it would ever be paired up with Moulin Rouge ink? But, stamped on pink the ink and ribbon work very well together!

The heart from "Love Doodles" is colored in with my pink souffle pens (another must have item!!) and then I put stickles around the box to add sparkle.

This was such a fun card to make! I just love how it turned out!
