Brighter Days!

**Be sure to check out my stamps & dies for sale on the Stamps for Sale tab above ! I just updated with new stamps & dies this week!**

Hey all!  How are things going?  It's the weekend!! Yea!! I don't know why this week seemed so long, maybe because it was so busy!  Now I'm putting off working on my garage sale for next Saturday but as soon as I finish this post I've told myself I have to go back to work on pricing and sorting, pricing and sorting...

I wanted to share a card I've been working on.  I LOVE the cute stamp set that is in the April Simon Says kit (that is the first kit I have EVER purchased!).  I don't know what it is about the light bulb image but I love it!  And the font just calls my name too!  I couldn't wait to use it!

Brighten Day Flowers 1.2

I was also excited to play with PTI's Embellished Elegance set!  I know it seems like an unlikely pair but I was inspired by this pin on Pinterest.

I've seen others like this but how cool are flowers in a light bulb!?

Brighten Day Flowers Closeup Side

I stamped the light bulb (in hindsight I should have embossed it in black because I had a little trouble with the ink bleeding) and then took out my waterbrush pen and Avery Elle's Sea Glass ink pad to watercolor some water into the bottom of the bulb.  I have to say how much I LOVE these ink colors from Avery Elle!  I was the luckiest girl when I won their entire ink collection!  The colors stamp so beautifully and they are gorgeous!

Brighten Day Flowers Side

I was also inspired by all of the flowers that have had black or gray leaves on them lately.  It's a really elegant look!

I'm entering this card into the Simon Says Stamps Clean & Simple challenge!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed the card!! Have a GREAT weekend!

Picture Perfect! With Crafty Peeps Card Kit

Hello!  I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend! I know I did!  We enjoyed a great time of worship Sunday morning and celebrated that our King has risen!  What a wonderful reminder of what my faith is all about!

Today I am here to share three cards I've made with the latest card kit for the Crafty Peeps Card Kit Club!  Our host this month is Kristii Lockart! I LOVED this kit!  So many fun papers and embellishments!

DSC00766

My first card is also my favorite!  I cut a small strip out of the patterned paper and inserted another piece from the collection underneath.  I made a Polaroid frame of sorts for the camera.  I loved the little cork board heart that Kristii included!  So cute!

DSC00763

I wanted to use as many papers from the collection as I could for this card but I also wanted to keep the focus on that gorgeous "thanks" die cut!  I placed of piece of PTI vellum over the paper where the die cut word would go.  I really like that you can still see the papers but they are muted enough that they don't take away from the word.

This last card is super clean & simple.  I used the fun frilly frame as the focus and built the rest of the elements around it.

Seeing Stars: Lil' Inker Designs Release Day 3

Today is the last day of the Lil' Inker Designs release showcase!  All of the products being shown are currently available in the Lil' Inker store already!  If you are following along in the blog hop you should have come from Heather Campbell's blog and if you'd like to start at the beginning, visit Laura's blog! There are three $15 gift certificates to the LID store up for grabs, so the more blogs you comment on, the better your chances are of winning!

Before we get on to our projects today, I wanted to say a little goodbye to another team member, Alyssa Scritchfield.  She is going to leave to focus on establishing a new family business.  She will be missed!  I always enjoying seeing what her creative mind comes up with!

Jen Carter Star Kite 1.1

For my first project today, it may not be real obvious where all of the pieces came from.  As I was cutting the Quick Notes Star Fold Out die, there is a negative piece that is left (see the dark diamond on the product image below?) behind.  I would set this on my desk and the more I looked at it I thought it looked just like a kite.  So, why not put that little piece of paper to work and create a kite out of it?  I did just that!  The kite string is the balloon string from the Balloon Builders stamp set.

That green hill is made from a new product too.  It is the edge of the Frames & Flowers die set!  It made the perfect hill!  The sentiment is from the Quick Notes stamp set and the clouds are from the Cloudy Sky Die & Rainbows & Clouds die set.  And, last but not least that awesome background is from the new Quilted Stitched Pattern die.

One last card to share.

Jen Carter Star

I used the Quick Notes Star Fold Out die on this card.  The stars look like they are dancing!

Jen Carter Star Closeup

I embossed the sentiment & star tails from the Quick Notes stamp set.

Jen Carter Star Inside

When you open the card up, there is a little surprise inside!  The recipient will find a glassine envelope with a sentiment embossed on the front of it.

Jen Carter Star Unfolded

The stars are attached to the inside frame of the Frames & Flowers die set. This frame fits perfectly into the little envie!  When you unfold the stars there is a little message.

That's all I have for you this release!  I hope you enjoy the new products!  I'd love to hear what your favorite is!

Frames & Flowers with Lil' Inker Designs Release Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Lil' Inker Designs release!  All of the products being showcased are currently available in the Lil' Inker store already!  If you are following along in the blog hop you should have come from Heather Campbell's blog and if you'd like to start at the beginning, visit Laura's blog! There are three $15 gift certificates to the LID store up for grabs, so the more blogs you comment on, the better your chances are of winning!

Jen Carter Frame Flowers

Today's card features the Frames & Flowers die set!  I used the frame to make a shaped card with a clear front panel so you can see through to the inside of the card.

Jen Carter Frame Flowers Outside Closeup

The flowers that are included with the die are fun shapes and the leaves are so unique!  I love the cutout pieces on the leaves!  The paper I used here is quickly becoming one of my favorites!  It is from the Simple Stories DIY Boutique paper pad.

Jen Carter Frame Flowers Inside All

Here's the card opened up.  I cut an extra frame to adhere over the acetate to cover up my adhesive.  I like that now you can see the great stitching detail on both sides.

Jen Carter Frame Flowers Inside Closeup

I love the inside (yellow) frame piece!  It nests so perfectly inside the outside frame and with the double stitching it adds that extra little umph!  The sentiment is from the Quick Notes stamp set and the swirl underneath it is from the You're My Favorite stamp set.

If you're wondering, this fits perfectly in a regular A2 sized envelope!

Thanks for visiting! There's plenty more inspiration to see using these sets and we'll be showcasing projects through Friday!  Your next stop on the hop is over to Karen's blog!

You're My Favorite: Lil' Inker Designs Release Day 1

Hello!  It's time for another Lil' Inker Designs release!  Yea!!

Jen Carter My Favorite

I started with the new sentiment set called, "You're My Favorite".  This is a hand drawn set in trendy handwriting!  I can see so many uses for a sentiment like this!  I went with the watercolor craze for this card.  I chose some colors from my aquacolor crayons and after water coloring with them I embossed this great sentiment in black.  I wanted the inside to be bright and fun too, so when you open the card you find this:

Jen Carter My Favorite Inside

...more water coloring and another fun sentiment!  This one is embossed on top of the new and WONDERFUL-GOT-TO-HAVE Quilted Stitched Pattern Die!  Oh my!  I think I will use this fabulous die A LOT!  I cut out my panel with the Stitched Mats: Rectangle die.

One more card to share today and we're going in a totally different direction now.

Jen Carter Smart Cookie

This card is made using the new "Smart Cookie" stamp set.  I stamped and embossed the cookie on patterned paper, cut him out and then adhered him to my Anytime Tag die cut.  I like how he/she looks stamped on patterned paper, kind of like a sprinkle cookie!

I stamped and cut out the little banner that is also included in the set and stamped the sentiment on the tag also.  This set also includes a graduation cap so you can use it for fun graduation cards!

Here are the new products that I've used:
