Lil' Inker Designs Release Day 1 & Video Tutorials

Hello!  It's that time again!  Time for a new Lil' Inker Designs release! The new products are already available in the store!  If you are following along in the blog hop you should have come from Laura's blog! There are three $15 gift certificates to the LID store up for grabs, so the more blogs you comment on, the better your chances are of winning!

I have two cards and two videos to share with you today!  If you've just come from Laura's blog you might have noticed that one of the themes for this release is lots of little holes! But hold on!  Don't fear the tiny little die cut pieces!! I found a wonderful & easy (and even fun!) solution for you!

(I would be honored if you would subscribe to my new Youtube Channel.  Unfortunately, I've had to start over and create a new one since my email was being discontinued and my account was tied to my old email.  I can't even tell you what a nightmare it's been getting all of my accounts saved/fixed!)

You've already seen a preview of my first card if you watched the video above.

Jen Carter Stork Welcome Baby Eyelet 1 wm

I love this new Stork Stuff die & stamp set!  It is so much fun and I don't even know how many stork cards I've made!   I also love this new Cover Up Die: Eyelet!  I started by first die cutting the eyelet background.  I chose fun papers to paper piece the stork from Stock Stuff with...the options are certainly endless!  And, if you like to color, there is a stork line image that you can color too!

To go along with the previously released Hearts Banner Die, we now have the Circles Banner Die!  It was perfect to add to the top of the card.  I love the little stitched detail in some of the circles!

For this bottom part, I used a thick piece of heat resistant acetate to emboss my sentiment on from the Stork Stuff stamp set.  You will also notice that I paper pieced the tiny little die cut pieces on three of the rows.  I know that that sounds hard & tedious but it was really easy!  I created another short video to show you how I did this.

I have one more card to share today that uses the Stork Stuff dies & stamp set and also a few more new dies from Lil' Inker Design's new release!

Jen Carter Cherry Sweet Friend Stork 3 wm

Do you see the stork?  LOL!  I used the stork head/body die to create the cherries!  They also look like music notes to me.  I die cut the white frame with one of the new Dual Dotted Squares dies.  The sentiment is from two stamp sets.  The "sweet" is from the Stork Stuff stamp set & the "friend" is from the previously released Girl's Best Friend stamp set.

The yellow background die is the new Wrapper's Delight Sunburst Die which is another amazing die!  It is the first in a new series of dies that can be wrapped around a card front or other object.  I didn't use it how it was intended here, but I love how it looks on a card front! I used distress inks to color the vellum a light yellow to a darker yellow/orange and then adhered it to my card front with vellum adhesive (Tombow).

And...I don't have these in my hands quite yet but I wanted to share a fun new product from LID that you can purchase TODAY!!

hello.

Hello!!  It's almost the weekend!  Yea!! :)

Today I wanted to share another watercolor card with you.  This one I did a little differently than my previous watercolor cards and I like how it turned out.

Jen Carter Saying Hello watercolor 1.1

For this card I used one of my favorite Lil' Inker Designs stamp sets ever, Awesome Blossom!  I scribbled my aquacolor crayons on the back of an old CD case and then spritzed it with water.  I picked up the color with the various flower stamps from the set and then stamped the images on watercolor paper that I had die cut with the coordinating Awesome Blossom dies.

Jen Carter Saying Hello watercolor Closeup 1.1

I die cut the speech bubble with a cool die set called Speech Bubbles 2 but the thing I love the most about these dies are that they are dual stitched so you can see the stitching on the die cut and on the pink cardstock!  I stamped the hello (LOVE that font & I would buy this stamp set just for that sentiment, heehee!) from the Just Sayin' stamp set.  I backed the entire card front on yellow striped pattern paper.

I'm linking this card up at the Cardabilities challenge blog for their current sketch challenge.

I'm also sharing this card up over at the Clean & Simple Stamping blog.

Thanks for dropping by!  Have a fantastic weekend!

You are a Friend to Me!

Hello!  I hope you are having a great day!

Jen Carter Whimsy Friend Flowers 2

This is a super clean & simple card.  I started by stamping some of the flowers from the Clearly Whimsy Retro Flowers stamp set in a variety of different ink colors.  I used more yellow because I really liked the pop of color it gave.

I die cut the Large Word Friend die, also from Clearly Whimsy, out of my card front, positioned the stamped flowers behind it and then popped my entire cardfront up so that there would be some dimension.  I added the yellow twine from the Twinery and the glitter enamel dots last.

The theme for the ShowCASe Your Style Challenge blog this week is friendship.  I shared a friendship card last week for this challenge but thought I'd share another one with you today as well.

I'm entering this card over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge to use something on your card that starts with x, y or z.  I used yellow!

I'm also entering this in the Always Playing with Paper Inspiration Challenge #35 where I was inspired by the circle & yellow and white flowers.

Thanks for visiting!  Have a lovely day!

Hello Friend!

Hey everyone!! School is out and I have one more week of work until my Summer break!  I am so excited to finish up my work in the office and be able to spend more time crafting and hanging with my family!  Yea!!

I am sharing a card today that I made using the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch.  I turned the sketch on it's side when I created this card.

Jen Carter Frantic Stamper USA Love - Copy

I used the three different papers as show in the sketch, only on a little bit different scale.  Sketches are open for interpretation right? :)  After adhering the papers, I die cut the USA Map from Frantic Stamper.  I have wanted a USA die for a long time, but I wanted one with details and one that was one die and not separate pieces.  This one was perfect! I popped it up on with dimensionals.

I added a speech bubble from the coordinating Map Icons die set and then placed a cut out heart from Kitchen Dress A2 Card Maker die set on top adhered with dimensionals.  To finish the card off & add another pop of color I tied it with Peapod twine from The Twinery.

Here's the sketch turned on its side.

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day!

Supplies not listed above:
Patterned Paper: Heidi Swapp Hello Today, (the black & white one I can't find what pack it was in)
Cardstock: Aqua Mist PTI

Clearly Whimsy May Blog Hop

Welcome to the Clearly Whimsy Stamps May release BLOG HOP!

The CWS design team have been sharing some amazing creations made with these new stamps and dies over the last couple of days, and today we are celebrating their release with a GRAND BLOG HOP!  On Thursday, we released 4 new Clearly Whimsy Stamps clear sets and 7 new coordinating Shapeology crafting dies.

For today's card I am also posting for the newest ShowCASe Your Style Challenge as well!  The theme for the next two weeks is "Friendship" and we'd love for you to join us (more about that below).

Jen Carter Whimsy Cone Flowers Friend SCYS

For this card I really tried to go outside of the box and was very inspired by a photo I found on the web that I've shown below.  I really wanted to recreate that cool photo in this card! I started by die cutting the waffle cone from the new Ice Cream Cone die set.  I wanted a deep impression on the waffle part that is impressed into the die cut so I first wet my kraft paper with a few light sprays of water.  This left such a nice, deep impression for my waffle cone flower container!

I next stamped & embossed in white one of the flower images from the new Retro Flowers stamp set and fussy cut them out.  Some of them I popped up with dimensionals and some I adhered directly to the background paper.  I added white & clear enamel dots to each flower center for even more dimension & texture.  I die cut the new Friend Large Word die out of vellum and adhered and then heat embossed the "celebrate" from the Yum, Yum, Yum stamp set in Copper.

Like I said earlier, this is also for the ShowCASe Your Style Challenge!  I hope you'll play along with us!  We would love to see your creations using stamps from the Clearly Whimsy line, but all products are welcome to be used and no one is disqualified from winning!  The challenge is open for 2 weeks.  You can link up your cards and see the other design team samples by clicking here.  There are prizes up for grabs too, so be sure to check that out!

Back to the blog hop!  The hop starts today and ends on Wednesday May 20th at midnight EDT.  We will draw one winner from the comments left on each hop post and that random person will win a $25 gift voucher to the Whimsy Store. Remember to comment on all the blogs in the hop in order to be eligible for the drawing.

The next stop is Alanna's blog.

We are releasing 4 new clear stamp sets and 7 coordinating die/die sets this week, and they are available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store RIGHT NOW and selected Whimsy Stamps retailers tomorrow!!

Jen Carter Whimsy Cupcake 2

For this card I colored the cute cupcake image from the Yum, Yum, Yum stamp set with my copics.  I die cut the Cupcake Word Die from yellow glitter paper.

After I colored the cupcake I added glitter to the polka dots and flowers with a wink of stella glitter pen.

Jen Carter Whimsy Lil' Stinker 2

Another fun set releasing this month is Lil' Stinker which also has coordinating dies. I used the two grass images included in the set to create my border and also stamped a mushroom from the previously released Into the Woods stamp set.  The skunk was die cut with the Lil' Stinker dies & then stamped with the coordinating Lil' Stinker stamp set.  The cute little bee & bee die is also included in those sets.

I die cut the clouds with the Stitched Cloud die set.  The banners at the top of the card were stamped with stars from the new Say Cheese stamp set and the previously released Happy Hello stamp set.
