Jen Carter Two Storks Hello Closeup 1

Hello and welcome to Lil' Inker Designs May Monthly Meet-up Challenge!  Details on the challenge are below. If you participate, just by designing something (ANYTHING) using Lil' Inker Designs, you could have the chance to win a generous prize!

Today I have two cards to share plus a short video showing a technique I used to create them.

Jen Carter Two Storks Hello 3

I really love the new Stork Stuff stamp set & Stork Stuff dies that Lil' Inker Designs released last week!  These are so fun for cards beyond baby themes!  For this card I created my card base by cutting the largest die from Dual Dotted Rectangles.  I then cut my mat with the Embossed Dots Rectangles.  I think those two products work gorgeously together & compliment each other so well!  The paper already had fun banners at the top but I wanted to add a soft touch with the Circle Banner cut out of vellum.

I made the stork face two different directions and I love how this turned out!  I have a video below showing how to do this.  Basically you do the same thing as you usually do but flip the die cut over and use that.  I share some tips in my video on how to get a nice, clean cut.

The card that I was making in the video is shown below.

I used almost the same supplies as in the first card.  Instead of using the Embossed dots for the inside mat, I used a smaller sized die from the Dual Dotted Rectangles set.  I think they look pretty cool paired together.  For this card I wanted the birds to be a male and a female.  I tried to choose papers that would help show that but I also chose to stamp their eyes (with the Stork Stuff stamp set) differently and also positioned their legs differently as well.   By keeping the male's legs straighter, he is also a tad bit taller than the female which helped when positioning their beaks.

The hearts I die cut out of glitter paper with the Floating Hearts Die.  There were the perfect sizes of hearts to use in that die!  I cut the diagonal using the On the Diagonal die, which also gave the card a little stitching.  The sentiment is from the Hey, Foxy stamp set.

So, how can YOU pay along?
Make a new project or share something you've been working on featuring LID goodies & post this project to your blog or favorite gallery. Link your project to our challenge by using the InLinkz tool on the monthly post on the Lil' Inker Designs blog.  You have through June 18th at 11:30 PM EST to link your project to be eligible to win a prize. Projects should exclusively feature LID goodies to be eligible to win but do not need to exclusively feature LID goodies to join our Meetup. I'm excited to see what you create!

What can you win?
This month's prize is a $50 gift certificate to Lil' Inker Designs!  Winners will be announced in a new blog post shortly after the challenge ends on the Lil' Inker Designs blog. Have fun and we can't wait to see what you're working on!
